Lifeguard tryouts will be on Saturday February 04, 2012 at 7:00 AM. They will be held at the UWF aquatic center: Bldg. 72 11000 University Pkwy.Pensacola, FL 32514 (850) 474-2586.
The minimum age requirement is 16 years old. We require ARC Lifeguard Training certification and the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's license to be hired. If you do not have the certification or the license you can still tryout, but not interviewed, until those requirements are met. The CPR for the professional rescuer is recommended. The tryout consists of a 600 yd swim in no more than 10 minutes and a 1.5 mile run in no more than 12 minutes. There is a 30 minute break in between. If you pass in the allotted time and have proper requirements you will then be scheduled for an interview. Starting pay: $13.33/hr.
